Office Assistant / Receptionist Position

The Office Assistant / Receptionist serves as the point person for all incoming calls and people entering the office. This requires excellent communication skills, patience and the ability to clearly explain our program and procedures to people who inquire about housing. This person will also be a support person for the Leasing and Occupancy Department for duties such as; filing, faxing, and mailings. This is a challenging, fast paced job that may lead to an opportunity for growth for the right person. Responsibilities and Duties: · Answer phones and greet people at front window · Sort mail · Order office supplies, postage, shipping supplies, toner for copy and fax machines as needed · Oversee the maintenance and day to day operations of the office equipment (i.e. fax, postage meter, and copier) · Provide administrative support to Director for Board Meeting packets Diligent and careful daily filing · Distribute information regarding available units to people seeking housing · Other clerical duties as required Skills: · Excellent written and verbal skills · Professional demeanor at front desk and on telephone · Ability to accomplish multiple tasks in a busy office · Computer experience necessary · Initiative to complete tasks with minimal supervision · Word and Access skills a plus · Knowledge of Spanish or Russian a plus
